Make the Most of Your Home
We will work with you to make changes to the design and function of your living space to make you happy and is the home that you want.
How we use the space in our homes and what makes us happy will change with time. Your furniture layout and accessories may need attention so that you can enjoy the space again. Rooms can change their purpose, such as a bedroom can be a home office or project room after children have moved out. Walls may be removed or changed to enlarge and improve your living space and that can lead to changes in colour, furniture, layout, lighting, artwork and accessories.
Making decisons about what should stay and letting go of treasures are big decisions. We can help you through this process. Finding a new purpose for items in your home is cost effective and often a surprise. Many clients request help with paring down items that family members have no interest in and these items are simply being stored in your home.
We will work with your budget to make the changes. We work with upholsterers, furniture refinishers, carpenters, handyman, painters and retailers and will see your project completed to your satisfaction.
I have consulted with clients that required a consultation and recommendation and they were able to make the changes for themselves. Many clients request our involvement throughout the process to manage all of the aspects of the design and completion of the project.
Home Definition worked with a client who purchased a new condo and wanted help choosing all interior finishes including flooring, cabinetry, tile & paint colours. The client had room in her budget to update some furnishings to fit her new space. She is thrilled with the her new home. The real estate agent selling the units has taken prospective buyers through her "model" condo to showcase the possibilities for their future home.
The transition to condo living can be a challenge. The living space available is a different scale and many items you have may not work in the space. The transition from a traditional home to an open floor plan condo is a lifestyle change. Planning the layout of furniture and being sure that you have the right pieces for your new home will simplify your move.
