Testimonials:

Pat, you made so many changes to my home that I didn’t recognize it.  And it all worked because my house sold quickly.  Houses in my area that were on the market before mine are still for sale.  Thank you for all your help.

Mark, Thornhill

Thank you ever so much for your help and suggestions. I made the changes in the living  and dining room you recommended. Painting the bathroom a lighter grey really did brighten it up.Thanks for helping me find the right new furniture pieces for the bathroom that I will take with me to my new home.  There's much more storage now and it looks so much better.

Roger, Toronto
“I love having my living room all pulled together.  The new carpet and couch look fantastic and so do the chairs you had redone.  Everything looks great, it’s calm and grounded.  It is so terrific to come home to.”

“Thank you so much for all your help with my new condo.

It seemed insurmountable before you made it seem so easy.”

Diane, Port Elgin

"Thank you Pat for everything you did to get our house ready for us to move into. There was a lot to do in just a couple of months - floors to redo, the whole house to paint, window treatments and new light fixtures; and you made sure that everything was ready. It wouldn't have all happened without you and we are thrilled with the results."

C. Clarke, Southampton
"Pat, it has been wonderful to have your help making all the decisions for my new condo. There were so many choices of materials and finishes and you helped me pick new products that are wonderful in my home.

The new art and furniture pieces that you have found are just right."

Shirley M., Southampton
"The stair runner that you helped me choose looks fantastic. It makes the stairway much warmer, quieter and there are no more splinters and the small area rug in the entrance way is just the finishing touch we needed for that room. Also, I love that the carpets are 100% wool and made in the first world. Cheers!"

"Pat's recommendations for changes to my home were easy for me to do and I was ready to list my house quickly. Pat recommended moving large pieces of furniture to another room which dramatically improved the space. Pat also worked with me to sort through clutter that was very distracting to potential buyers."

Trish Hanson, Pickering
"I am so glad to have had Pat work with me to select cabinetry, finishes, and colours for our new home. Our rooms have gone from builder's beige to a fresh and warm palette. We are enjoying the changes and the living room is my favourite!"

M. J. Scott, Oakville
"Pat, thank you for all your help in staging our home. The changes you made in two hours helped us see the potential of our home. We continued the work you advised us to do, and we sold within 10 days."

Our colour clients are moving to a new home, or after years of living with the same paint colours want to refresh and update their home.  Changing the colour of a room is the most cost effective solution to update and give you a fresh perspective on your space.

Selecting the right colour, hue and sheen can be difficult. The spectrum of colours available today can be daunting and you want to get it right.  It is important to consider the flow from one room to the next  and make colour choices that will work well together.  We specify Benjamin Moore paint when making colour recommendations.  Benjamin Moore paints are easy to get and are used by many painters.

A client hired Home Definition to update her home that had been painted fifteen years ago.  She had made the original colour choices and wasn't happy.  Fifteen years with a colour you're not happy with is a long time to live with that colour.  The main living space of living, dining room and kitchen is over 2000 square feet and painted sunshine yellow.  The project became much broader than paint. We  made fabric selections first and then made paint colour decisions.  We always recommend this approach. It is much, much easier to select a paint colour to work with your choice of fabric. The transformation in her home was dramatic and she is thrilled.

A recent project with a client who moved into a condo involved updating the colour scheme from the previous owner.  The main living space was high and narrow and the dark colours on the wall, made the room feel oppressive.  This was heightened by the fact that the colours did not work with the new owner's furnishings.   A much lighter neutral colour was selected, that has brightened the entire space and works perfectly.

The latest property that we purchased had wallpaper, a border, or both in every room.  There was a pink undertone in every room.  This scheme had no appeal for us.  We had all the paper removed in order to have a clean state to start making colour selections.  There is no pink undertone in the selections that I made.  Many people could not see the potential in the space when we bought it and were amazed with the results we achieved with colour.
